HP and Acer introduced the first Chromebooks with AMD processors

HP’s Chromebook 14 and Acer’s Chromebook 315 became the first Google laptop to use AMD.

Chromebooks with Google’s low hardware capabilities have spread around  the world. At the CES 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, which started today and will last for 3 days, the Chromebook 14 introduced by HP and the Chromebook 315 introduced by Acer are the first Google notebooks with AMD hardware.

Features of HP Chromebook 14:

CPU: dual-core AMD A4-9120 APU

RAM: 4GB DDR4-1866 SDRAM

Graphics Processor: AMD Radeon R4 Graphics

Storage: 32GB eMMC

Connections: Two USB-C 3.1 Gen-1 (5 Gbps), two USB-A 2.0, headphone / microphone jack, microSD card slot.

Wireless communication: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6174A-5 802.11 a/b/g/AC (2×2) Wi-Fi card and Bluetooth 4.2 Unified (MU-MIMO support)

Battery life: lasted up to 9 hours and 15 minutes in daily use. (The screen brightness is set to the 150 nite.)

Graphics Processor: TBD Radeon Graphics

Storage: 32 or 64 GB eMMC,

Camera: 178 degree 720p HD camera

Connections: Two USB-C 3.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, headphone/Microphone jack, MicroSD card slot.

Wireless communication: 802.11 ac (2×2) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2

Size: 14.98 x 10.09 x 0.79 inches (19.95 mm/1.995 cm thick)

Battery life: Lasted up to 10 hours in daily use.

At the CES 2019 Consumer Electronics Show, we see computers that have already been introduced and have previously used the combination of Intel-Nvidia to switch to AMD.

Now, AMD is more suited to Intel and Nvidia in terms of price-performance, which seems to have pushed computer manufacturers into this way.  We are wondering how the  feedback from users is going to be.
