AOC CQ27G2U Review

The AOC CQ27G2U is a 27-inch curved gaming monitor built around 2K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1ms response time. It belongs to the second generation of AOC’s G Line series, and this review covers its design, panel and connectivity.

AOC CQ27G2U Design

The screen uses a 1500R curved panel, which wraps the image slightly toward the viewer rather than sitting flat. The bezels are thin, keeping attention on the display itself.

The stand has sharp lines and a stable base, with a cable routing hole through the middle. It supports height adjustment as well as tilt to the left, right, front and back, which helps with ergonomic positioning.

Red accent stripes mark the design, but there is no RGB lighting. Leaving it out keeps the monitor more affordable than RGB-equipped models.

AOC CQ27G2U Features

The 27-inch screen runs at 144Hz with 2K resolution and a 1ms response time, covering both Full HD and 2K games. That combination suits competitive titles such as CS:GO and Valorant. The monitor includes FreeSync Premium support, which pairs it well with AMD graphics cards.

The panel is a VA type, covering 120 percent of the sRGB color gamut with a brightness of 250 candela and a typical contrast ratio of 3000:1. Alongside competitive play, this makes it usable for colorful platform and adventure games.

Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.0 ports and one DisplayPort input, so a console and a computer can be connected at the same time. The monitor also carries two 2W speakers and four USB ports.

In Brief

The AOC CQ27G2U fits anyone after a 27-inch curved monitor for competitive gaming. Its 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and FreeSync Premium support target fast-paced play, and the VA panel adds enough color coverage for other genres. AOC positions its G Line series toward esports players, which matches where this model is aimed.
