Design & Build

The RoboVac 11 keeps the familiar circular vacuum shape, topped with tempered glass for a cleaner look. It stands 8 cm tall, low enough to slip under most furniture and beds. The control panel is deliberately plain: a single power button sits on top, and nothing else competes for attention.

The unit is rechargeable and ships with a charging dock. When it is idle, it waits at the ready. Users can send it out by setting it on the floor or by using the bundled remote control. Once a run is finished, the RoboVac 11 returns to the dock on its own to recharge.

Navigation

On the floor, the RoboVac 11 works across different surfaces, including wall-to-wall carpet, which can be awkward terrain for a device of this kind. Drop sensors read the edge of a staircase as the unit approaches and steer it back toward safer ground, so it does not go over the edge, which is useful in a two-level home.

One limit is worth noting: the RoboVac 11 cannot climb over carpets with raised, fringed edges, so users with that kind of rug should keep it in mind.

Cleaning Modes

Alongside its automatic cleaning routine, the RoboVac 11 offers several dedicated modes: Edge Cleaning, Spot Cleaning, Single Room Cleaning with a timer, Manual, and Maximum. Maximum Mode raises suction for tougher jobs. Edge and Spot modes concentrate on the borders of furniture and clean in a spiral pattern, which suits larger rooms. Manual mode hands control to the remote, and Single Room Cleaning runs for a set period, selectable at 30 minutes, one hour, or two hours.

For upkeep, the RoboVac 11 comes with a cleaning tool, spare side brushes, an extra HEPA-style filter, and an extra foam filter. The 0.55-litre dust bin is simple to empty: one button slides out the receptacle, and a release button drops the dirt. On heavier jobs the bin fills quickly.

Suction & Performance

The RoboVac 11 vacuums at 1000 Pa. It does its best work on hard floors and on carpets with a thin pile; on deep-pile carpet it picks up less, and a traditional vacuum still does more thorough work there. In our tests on both thick pile at home and wall-to-wall carpet at the office, it handled everyday cleaning well.

Battery life runs to about 100 minutes, roughly one hour and 40 minutes, which is enough to cover the floors of a large home in a single pass. A full recharge takes 300 to 360 minutes. At its loudest, in Maximum Mode, the RoboVac 11 measures 60 dB, noticeably quieter than a traditional vacuum cleaner.
