The Anker SoundCore Strike 3 is a wired gaming headset built for the PC and the PlayStation 4. This review covers its design and comfort, its sound quality, its connections and controls, and its microphone.
Design & Comfort
The SoundCore Strike 3 uses 52 mm drivers sized to surround the ears, and it is built for long sessions. The inside of the headband uses a soft sponge material, and the ear cushions use memory foam pads with a cooling gel meant to hold down heat and sweat during extended use. Across more than 40 hours of The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima in our testing, the headset stayed comfortable without any discomfort. Both earcups carry blue lights that come on when the headset is worn; there is no RGB lighting, but the fixed blue glow gives the unit a distinct look. The build is largely plastic.

Sound Quality
The Strike 3 offers virtual 7.1 surround sound. In our use across many games on both the PC and the PlayStation 4, the surround effect comes across well, and the bass is strong for the headset’s class. A dedicated processor emphasizes footsteps, gunshots, and environmental sounds, which helps with positional audio in games such as PUBG, Fortnite, and Valorant.
On the PC, the SoundCore Gaming app enables the virtual 7.1 support and lets users tune the sound profile, with equalizer options and microphone settings kept in the same place. The range of settings is not extensive, but it is enough for this class of headset.
Connections & Controls
The Strike 3 connects to a PC or a PlayStation 4 over USB. On the 1.7-meter cable sits an inline remote with a volume wheel, a microphone volume control, and a switch that turns the 7.1 surround on and off. The controls themselves work well, but the remote sits in the middle of the cable, so reaching it sometimes means feeling along the cable to find it. The headset also runs a separate cable to each earcup; because one side cannot be freed on its own, taking a single earcup off means removing the whole headset.
Microphone
The microphone is detachable, which keeps it out of the way when it is not in use, and it includes noise cancellation for voice chat. Anker describes the microphone as resistant to liquid spills and lists an IP5X rating for it.

Who Is Anker SoundCore Strike 3 For?
The Anker SoundCore Strike 3 fits players who spend long sessions on the PC or the PlayStation 4 and want comfortable, surround-capable sound at an affordable price. Users who prefer a metal build or want RGB rather than a fixed blue light will look elsewhere, but for long-session comfort and positional audio in competitive games, the Strike 3 covers the need.
